Similes

Harmony is as fast as a cheetah.
Harmony is as tall as a tree.
Harmony is as small as a ladybug.
Harmony is as beautiful as a rainbow.

This is my day 2 activity number 1.

  1. Kia ora Jamie,

Nice to meet you! How are you doing today? My name is Olive and I am one of the new blog commentators for Kaikohekohe on The Summer Learning Journey this year. I’m working the Teaser Week and I’m so excited to see what you and all your classmates are getting up to!

Well done for completing your first blog activity! I’m super keen to see your similes!

I really like that you wrote about one of your classmates! You use some fantastic descriptive words such as, “beautiful” and “fast”. I also think it’s great the way you’ve chosen some exotic animals to compare Harmony to! Speaking of animals, I’d like to know what your favourite animal is?

If you haven’t already, you should check out Harmony’s blog and give her a positive comment! This will give you extra points and help you win some prizes for The Summer Learning Journey! I’m sure Harmony will also appreciate it! Positivity makes everyone feel good!

Overall, ka pai for a great first post! Maybe next time you put some colour in your presentation, to really make it stand out! What do you think?

Keep participating in the activities, you’re doing a great job so far! What one has been your favourite? Remember the official start of The Summer Learning Journey is 16th December (Next week) so be sure to get online and check all the activities out! There’s lots of points at stake and some great prizes to win!

Thank you again for your great blog post, I’m looking forward to see what else you come up with this week!

    Ngā mihi,
    Olive

Feel free to check out my blog and get to know me a little better!

  2. Kia ora Jamie,

Merry Christmas! I hope you are having a great holiday so far :)

My name is Tayla and I am the Cluster Manager for the Summer Learning Journey in Kaikohekohe. I just wanted to pop in and say that it’s not too late to start the programme! You can find the activities here: https://sites.google.com/site/summerlearningjourney/weekly-activities

You can do any of the activities, so take a look at some of the options. I’m sure there will be something that you’ll find interesting to learn about.

I hope I get to read some of your work!

    Ngā mihi,
    Tayla
